He is charged with violation of arms laws, forgery of certificates as well as perjury
A 22-year-old man was arrested by police officers of the Security Department of Spaton – Artemis in the early hours of today, Wednesday, October 18, 2023, for violating the legislation on weapons, forgery of certificates as well as for dishonesty.
In an investigation carried out, in the presence of a judicial officer, at the home of the accused, the following were found and confiscated:
- -8- pistols with -12- magazines,
- -3- pistol lenses,
- plastic gun part,
- spring gun accessory,
- barrel slide,
- barrel,
- -475- cartridges of different calibers,
- bulletproof vest with ballistic plate,
- -3- Police ID cards, which were allegedly issued by Greek, Bulgarian and Croatian authorities, as well as a driving license issued by Bulgarian authorities, documents which were obviously forged.
- In a subsequent search of the defendant’s vehicle, a folding-grip pistol with -3- magazines and -9- cartridges was located and seized, inside a cache with a security code.
The arrested person, who refused to be fingerprinted, was taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.
The Greek Police will continue to intensify its presence through systematic and targeted controls, with the aim of preventing and suppressing crimes that directly affect citizens’ sense of security.
