It was held in an atmosphere of emotion the ordination of the new Metropolitan of Paramythia, FiliatonGiromeriou and Parga Serapionos.

The ordination took place in the Holy Metropolitan Church of Athens by the Primate of the Church of Greece, Archbishop Hieronymus.

Archbishop Hieronymos predominates in the High Priestly Collaborative, while Rev. Metropolitans, Ierotheos of Zych, Dionysios of Corinth, Chrysostomos of Messinia, Cyril of Kifissia, Gabriel of Nea Ionia, Timotheus of Thessalio, Konstantinos of Megaron and Amfilochios of Thera.

It is noted that they attended the Metropolitans of Kamerun Grigorios (Patriarchy of Alexandria), Anthimos of Alexandroupolis, Antonios of Glyfada, Manis Chrysostomos, Kilkisiou Bartholomeos and Philotheos of Thessaloniki are praying together.

I attendedalso representatives of the Parliament, the Regional Governor of Epirus, Mayors, municipal and regional councillors, clergy from Paramythia as well as representatives of associations and organizations.

In his ordination speech, the new Metropolitan expressed his gratitude to the Holy Synod and submitted his commitment to the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Patriarch.

He addressed a warm greeting to the residents of the Metropolis of Paramythia and referred to his predecessor with warm words.

In the next days the Presidential Decree is awaited and its publication and when it is sent to the Holy Synod the new Metropolitan will appear before the President of the Republic in the presence of the Archbishop and the Minister of Education to assure the fulfillment of his archpriestly duties.

His enthronement will follow in Paramythia on a date that has not yet been announced.
