Danish design studio Johannes Torpe Studio added natural materials and metallic notes to its interior “The Levi” restaurant in Copenhagen, which he designed in collaboration with restaurant company Copenhagen Concepts. The restaurant was created as a tribute to the Italian grappa distillery Romano Levi.

Romano Levi was the inspiration behind the idea of creating the hedonistic atmosphere that the restaurant invites us to enjoy” said Johannes Torpe, founder of the studio, speaking to Dezeen.

We also used his paintings as a basis and source of inspiration to create the logo, brand colors, menu, as well as the choice of tableware and cutlery“, he added. Described by the studio as “bold and playful”, the interior design aims to create a setting that echoes the restaurant’s fusion menu inspired by Italian and Japanese cuisine.

At the restaurant’s entrance, the studio added a u-shaped bar with a green marble counter, polished stainless steel glass shelves, and conical light fixtures facing the ceiling. “We love classic Milanese restaurants, where the whole atmosphere is hedonistic and everything starts at the bar with an aperitif“, emphasized Johannes Torpe.
