The state apparatus has been put on standby in view of the new wave of bad weather that is expected to hit suitable areas of our country in the next few hours.

In an updated bulletin issued late last night, the National Meteorological Service states that the severe weather will last until Sunday morning.

The main characteristics of the weather will be the heavy rains and storms, which will be accompanied by hail and a high frequency of lightning, initially in the northwest, gradually in the rest of the west and north with the extension of the phenomena to the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.

A. Heavy rains and storms are forecast:

On Saturday (04-11-23)

a. From the morning hours in the Ionian Sea, Epirus, western Sterea, western Peloponnese and western Macedonia.

b. From midday in central Macedonia, eastern Macedonia and Thrace as well as the islands of the northeastern Aegean and possibly temporarily Thessaly.

c. in the evening hours the effects will weaken in most areas and will be limited to Thrace, the northeastern Aegean, the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.

On Sunday (05-11-23)

a. In the early morning hours in the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese.

B. From Saturday morning, the south southwest winds will strengthen significantly in the east, even over the continental areas of Greece, reaching 7 to 8 Beaufort. Locally in the central and northern Aegean, temporary intensities of up to 9 Beaufort are predicted.
