Two Greek men were arrested for violations related to weapons in the area of ​​the Municipality of Gortyna in Heraklion.

In particular, the two arrested during a social event in the house where they live were shooting aimlessly. Officers from the Heraklion Police Department conducted a search of the house and surrounding areas, during which they found and confiscated a shotgun, cartridges, shells of various types and calibers, 11 knives, 2 rifle butts and a pistol barrel cleaning brush.

The preliminary investigation is carried out by the Asterousia Police Department. The Police Services of Crete carry out targeted checks and carry out continuous investigations, with the aim, as the relevant announcement points out, of preventing and suppressing the illegal possession and use of weapons, as well as the firing of unnecessary shots, which endanger the lives of citizens.

Also in Chania, during a cultural event, which took place in the local community of Asi Gonia in the Municipality of Apokorono, unknown assailants proceeded to shoot aimlessly with firearms.

Investigations are underway to identify and arrest the perpetrators, while the Rethymnon Security Sub-Directorate has filed a case file for violations of the Weapons Legislation and unnecessary shootings.
