Their adventure in the Gaza Strip had a happy ending for seven Greek citizensas they passed safe from the passage of Rapha in Egyptaccording to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
As pointed out by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, these are people who resided in the monastery of Agios Porphyrios in Gaza. In the near future, the ministry adds, all seven will be in Greece.

The Greek Minister of Foreign Affairs, George Gerapetritisupon his arrival at the EU Foreign Ministers Summit in Brussels and referring to the situation in the Middle East said: “From the first moment, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a huge effort so that those Greek citizens who wish to emigrate from Israel and especially from the war zone of Gaza are transported safely. Indeed, yesterday we completed the transport cycle. The last seven people of Greek origin or Greek citizenship were found safely in Egypt. This completes the circle of those who wished to come out. I would like to warmly thank the services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and especially our diplomatic missions in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Cairo for a very difficult effort and let us hope that this crisis will stop as soon as possible”.

“Following the actions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a family of seven who resided in the Monastery of Saint Porphyry in Gaza City, crossed from Gaza into Egypt today through the Rafah border crossing.
The five Greek citizens and their relatives are now in Egypt and their transfer to Greece will be planned in the near future.”
