THE Skip Social Closet closes 1 year of operation and celebrates for all the clothes that found a second life. Through her initiative Social Closet Skipthe well-known detergent brand in collaboration with the organization Fabric Republicinvited the world to participate in its cause, aiming to recycle over 10 tons of clothes in 1 year in the special recycling bins set up in 5 central points of Athens.

The Skip Social Closetswere very quickly embraced by the public, as a result of which the goals set to date have been exceeded:

– Over 25.6 tons of clothes have been collected
– And more than 45,000 people and 95 organizations have benefited with clothing

At the same time, Skip Social Closet it also has an environmental character, since through its action it contributes to the protection of the environment due to the reduced emission of CO2 for the production of new clothes. So, over the course of 1 year, our planet was “saved” from 1,355,069 kg of CO2.

A partner in this circular economy model (ReUse, Upcycle, Recycle–reuse & recycle) is the organization Fabric Republic The clothes collected from the Social Closets are washed with Skip detergents and Fabric Republic makes them available, clean and unselected, to our fellow human beings who need them. In this way, every wardrobe in our house turns into a Social Wardrobe and makes us participants in this great chain of supply to man and the planet.

The Skip Social Closets have been placed in Municipality of Alimos, Kifisia-Nea Erythraia and Zografouin the The Ellinikon Experience Parkas well as at Athens Olympic Center (OAKA). And because people’s messages for additional Social Closets exceeded expectations, soon, you will be able to find them 5 new Skip Social Closets in the characteristic shape of t-shirts designed/crafted by street artists, within Attica, thus adding even more positive impact to our society and environment.
