“I greeted them, talked to them and they asked me if the field is mine, I was calm and called the police directly,” said 27-year-old olive producer Spyros Katsiberis
Three criminals managed to steal seven tons of olives from a field in Achaia.
The 27-year-old olive producer Spyros Katsiberis who caught the perpetrators on his own spoke on the SKAI show ‘SIMERA’ and stated that the damage he suffered is around 10 thousand euros.
How they stole the olives
“The olives were picked day and night with car headlights and flashlights. The place is difficult and there was no one who could see them. I alone saw them, spoke to them, and made him unaware that the field was not mine. I greeted them, talked to them and they asked me if the field is mine”.
“I kept my cool and called the police straight away,” he added
“When they saw the patrol car that arrived they left from the back side. One of the three also martyred the other two.”
“Currently 652 kg of oil have been seized in one oil mill and 117 in the other. The damage to the estate is around 10 thousand euros.”
“One is from the village of Mazaraki and the other from Kato Achaia, they came at the behest of a third party”
