The trial of the 26 defendants in the horrific case of the 12-year-old from Colonos, a victim of sexual violence and exploitation, with Ilias Michos and her mother as the main defendants, has been set for January 8.

Following the issuance of a referral order for the child’s case, yesterday afternoon the trial of the case was determined in the shortest trial possible, as the defendants, who are all temporary detainees, have already completed 12 months of pre-trial detention.

According to the will of the Council of Misdemeanors (number 2865/2023) the two protagonists of what the 12-year-old girl experienced will sit in court for serious crimes involving sexual violence and prostitution of the child.

So the Ilias Michos will be tried for rape of the girl as well as for aggravated pimping at the expense of the minor child, while the 37-year-old mother, who was remanded in custody for aggravated pimping, will also be held accountable for the additional charge of aggravated pornography of a minor.

In the will, the judges state that the mother of the 12-year-old she had electronic material with her child naked for a fee to persons specified in the case file.

The other defendants in the case are the so-called “Micho clients,” men who paid to meet the girl on the horror dates, and are facing charges of sexual intercourse with a minor.

For the 12-year-old and what was happening against her, an investigation is underway for a second case file that was formed, so as not to raise issues of completing the maximum pre-trial detention limit of 18 months for those involved in the main case.
