A Balkan intelligence service recently informed the EYP that the 58-year-old was working for the FSB.
A spy thriller was revealed after the arrest of a wanted man by the Ukrainian authorities in a luxury villa in Anavyssos.
The 58-year-old Ukrainian was arrested on charges that, as the head of a defense equipment trading company, he embezzled 1.2 million euros from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
He collected the money as an advance to supply the Ukrainian army with bulletproof vests and helmets without ever fulfilling the agreement.
According to the Sky report, a Balkan intelligence agency recently informed the EYP that the 58-year-old was working for the FSB.
He reportedly made a once-a-month trip to Russia either via Turkey or Belarus.
Regarding his presence in Greece, in 2020, he obtained an investment visa after buying the villa in Anavyssos, while there were traces of him in the country in the period 1996-2001 and he had obtained Greek citizenship with forged documents.
He was arrested at the villa on 11/13.
The ultra-luxurious property, whose garage housed equally luxurious cars, was surrounded by security cameras and barbed wire to prevent easy access.
As predicted, the request for his extradition to Ukraine is expected to be examined by the Greek Justice within the next few days.
