Heroes Square is one of the central points that characterize Elefsina and for several years its reconstruction has been waiting. Now, the works have started in order to make substantial, but also aesthetic interventions. Its radical renovation is expected to give new breath to the whole city, in view of the great organization of the Cultural Capital in 2023.
“We are satisfied that after many years of delays, we managed to launch through targeted actions, this great reconstruction project for Elefsina”, said among others the mayor Argyris Oikonomou and continued:
“The first thing we did before the start of the works was the contacts with the shopkeepers around the square, as the last thing we want is to hinder the operation of the shops. So I ask for their understanding for the next period and for the inconvenience that the works can create. The same goes for my little friends, who will not be able to play in the square for the next few months “. And he concluded by saying: “The result, however, will be permanent and will reward us all.”
