Targeted police actions were carried out throughout the territory yesterday (30/11), as part of the implementation of the strategic planning of the Hellenic Police Headquarters to deal with crime and improve the level of security of citizens.

In this context, units were activated with the participation of visible and invisible police officers from various services, taking into account the local operational plans and emphasizing areas and settlements where increased incidents of delinquency are observed.

As it became known by the police, during the above actions throughout the country a total of 20,968 people and 16,284 vehicles were checked, while

* 619 people were brought in,

* 250 people were arrested for various crimes,

* 4,651 violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed.

* 81 vehicles were stopped and 3 confiscated.

For example, police operations were carried out:

* in the wider area of ​​Western Attica, where 1016 checks were carried out, 2 people were arrested and 147 violations for C.O.C. were confirmed,

* in the area of ​​Kifissia, where 61 checks of persons, 22 checks of vehicles were carried out and 18 infringements for K.O.K. were confirmed,

* in the area of ​​Agios Nikolaos Chalkida, 7 people were checked,

* in areas of Thessaloniki, where 22 checks of people, 12 checks of vehicles were carried out, 1 person was arrested for trafficking, 1 was brought and 12 violations were confirmed for K.O.K. and 4 for trade

* in areas of Serres, where 147 people, 92 vehicles were checked and 37 Code of Conduct violations were confirmed. and

* in the area of ​​Kavala, where 113 people were checked, 85 vehicle checks were carried out, 2 people were arrested for violating the law on aliens and 35 violations of the Criminal Code were confirmed.

At the same time, special police operations took place in Thessaly, Epirus and Central Macedonia, in areas and settlements with increased incidents of crime.

In particular, in Thessaly and in particular in the areas of Larissa, Magnesia, Trikala and Karditsa:

* 324 people and 276 vehicles were checked

* 6 people were brought in,

* 7 people were arrested

* 67 violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed, and

* 3 vehicles were immobilized.

In Epirus and specifically in the areas of Preveza and Thesprotia:

* 53 people and 36 vehicles were checked

* 5 people were brought

* 3 people were arrested

* 20 violations of the Code of Civil Procedure were confirmed. and

* 2 vehicles were immobilized.

In Central Macedonia and in particular in the Municipalities of Imathia, Pella and Pieria:

* 115 people and 62 vehicles were checked

* 19 people were brought

* 1 person was arrested

* 20 Code violations were confirmed, and

* 15 vehicles were immobilized.

Furthermore, a number of essential controls were carried out in businesses receiving, processing and recycling metal objects in Central Macedonia and Western Greece, as well as in businesses of pawnbrokers and moneylenders in Epirus and the Ionian Islands.

In this context, 40 people were checked in areas of the municipalities of Serres and Akarnania, while 3 people were checked in areas of the municipalities of Preveza and Zakynthos.

Finally, as pointed out by ELAS, “targeted police actions aimed at preventing and suppressing crime and instilling a sense of security in citizens will continue with undiminished intensity.”
