“We express our undivided support to the family of the police officer who is fighting the battle of his life because he was where he needed to be to protect all the rest of us. And that new kid is likely not coming home. And we all pray for him to return healthy and strong to his home”, commented the government representative Pavlos Marinakis to SKAI and the show “Kalimera” with Giorgos Autias.

“We’re talking about criminals, I don’t think some of those who went to volleyball know what net, set means. They went for a specific reason and have no color or team. Those who are criminals are criminals. The Minister of Justice has already announced and it will be the third intervention for a series of changes to the Criminal Code. Now, those convicted of fan violence will go to prison,” he added.

Also, Mr. Marinakis emphasized: “We understand the anger and we are not going to remain idly. The Prime Minister had said in August that all this is dynamic, if an outbreak is observed. We want to protect the people who work, the people who are around sports, the fans who want to go with their families to see the game.”

On the occasion of today’s meeting, the government representative pointed out that we should “wait for a Prime Minister and a government that does not mince its words and implements decisions that some have been afraid to implement for decades.”

Regarding Erdogan’s visit and the agreement on granting visas to Turkish citizens, Mr. Marinakis commented: “The visa is a timeless request, it is a very important development, in the context of a very important bilateral meeting between the Greek Prime Minister and the Turk president. This visit proved to be very important both for our country and for Turkey.”
