In the amputation of one leg of the 31-year-old policeman who was hit by a naval flare during the fan incidents last Thursday in Rentisproceeded the doctors of the general hospital of Nice where he is hospitalized in the ICU.

The 31-year-old is still fighting to stay alive with doctors however, to judge how amputation of the left lower limb is necessary.

The new medical release issued on Tuesday afternoon for the 31-year-old reads: “After informing the treating doctors, the patient underwent an amputation of the left lower limb today due to irreversible ischemic damage and extensive muscle necrosis in the thigh wound area and to avoid local septic and systemic complications and severe deterioration of the patient’s condition. He remains hospitalized in the ICU in critical condition, under sedation and mechanical ventilation. Hemodynamically supported with vasoconstrictor drugs and extrarenal hemodialysis.”

In the previous days, the police officer underwent other surgeries that were necessary to clean the wound.
