A criminal organization that cultivated indoor cannabis seedlings (hydroponic method) in the region of Viotia, with the aim of distributing the produced quantity to traffickers or drug addicts in Attica, was dismantled by the Narcotics Prosecution Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate.

The illegal financial benefit obtained by the members of the organization is estimated at more than 1,000.000 euros

The deconstruction of the criminal organization took place in the framework organized police operationon Monday, December 11, 2023, in Attica and Boeotia, resulting in the arrest of the 4 members of the ring.

Those arrested are charged with – as the case may be – criminal organization, violation of drug and weapons laws as well as violence against employees.

Those arrested, with the case filed against them, were taken to the competent prosecutor’s office.

Specifically:

· 41 years old, as the leader of the criminal organization, was responsible for the organization, coordination and smooth running of the illegal cultivation to ensure production throughout the year. He also took care of the full guidance of the members of the organization and the further safe handling of the quantities as well as the transfer of essential items to his 60-year-old accomplice,

· 48-year-old, who was responsible for finding other traffickers and users narcotic substances, as well as for the reformulation and trafficking of quantities of raw cannabis (SKUNK), in the wider area of ​​Attica.

It is noted that, during the operation, the 48-year-old, trying to avoid arrest, initially he ran away while he then put up a strong resistance, pushing back the police officers, who tied him up using the absolutely necessary force.

· 60-year-old, who was in charge of supply of the illegal cannabis seedling cultivation laboratory, with all the necessary paraphernalia, the cultivation and care of the cannabis seedlings, the production and reformulation and storage of quantities of raw cannabis (SKUNK) and

· 27-year-old, who was responsible for finding and leasing suitable premises in inaccessible locations for the safe establishment and operation of illegal hydroponic cannabis cultivation laboratories.

From the searches carried out as part of the police operation, the following were found and confiscated:

· raw hydroponic hemp (SKUNK) weighing -1- kilo and -306.5- grams,

· -691- hydroponically cultivated hemp seedlings,

· revolver, -23- cartridges and -2- metal folding knives,

· -3- vehicles,

· -20,410- euros,

· -7- mobiles,

· precision electronic scale and

· complete hydroponic cannabis lab equipment (electronic pH meters, electronic vacuum and repressurizers, fabric and plastic pots, electronic temperature and humidity measuring devices, vials and drums of liquid fertilizer, metal electronic lamps, hemp drying nets, vent, atomizer, bottles pH adjustment liquid, wall-mounted electric fans, etc.).
