A photo of Aliki Vougiouklakis inside her home, at Christmas 1962, was uploaded to Instagram by “Studio Kleisthenis”, a profile that publishes rare and unpublished material of the well-known photographer Kleisthenis Daskalakis.
In the photo, the great Greek star sits in an armchair, hugging a plastic, inflatable Santa Claus and poses smiling, with her well-known Nazi, in the camera, surrounded by Christmas garlands.

In the photo’s caption, “Studio Kleisthenis” wrote: “Kleisthenis photographing Aliki Vougiouklakis at her home on Christmas 1962.”
Aliki Vougiouklakis died on July 23, 1996, at the age of 62 at the Athens Medical Center from liver cancer.
]This was followed by a two-day popular pilgrimage of her body to the chapel of the Metropolis of Athens. Her funeral was a public expense, attended by many of her colleagues and a large crowd. Her bones have been transferred to the artists’ ossuary of the first cemetery of Athens.
