That is why at 12:29 he informed a newspaper with a recorded message stating that a bomb had been activated in a camp near the MAT headquarters. which was to explode in 45 minutes.
An alarm was immediately sounded at the ELAS operations center and police forces rushed to the area.
From the control they carried out, they found the explosive device under a tree and immediately cordoned off the area. TEEM men also arrived at the scene where they neutralized the explosive device before it exploded.

“Today, at 12:29 p.m., the Attica Immediate Action Center was informed by phone by the “Editors’ Newspaper” about a recorded message, which referred to the placement of an activated bomb in a camp near the headquarters of the MAT, which was going to explode in 45 minutes, a time that was minimal to remove people from the wider area.
Strong police forces immediately rushed to the scene and found, in a place with trees, the existence of an explosive device. The area was cordoned off in time, as in the event of an explosion, the physical integrity of students, in the NTUA facilities, police officers and passing citizens would be threatened.
Police officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department carried out the process of neutralizing the explosive device, which has been sent to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for further investigation.
A preliminary investigation is being carried out by the Anti-Terrorist Service (D.A.E.B.)”.
