The prosecutor of the Mixed Court of Appeal of Thessaloniki proposed that the 50-year-old meat trader accused of murdering the 59-year-old cattle breeder Dimitris Graikos in 2016 be found guilty of premeditated homicide in a calm state of mind.

The 59-year-old livestock farmer was found buried along with his car at the defendant’s livestock unit in Eastern Thessalonikitwo and a half years after his mysterious disappearance.
“She beat him, knocked him down and punched and kicked him. When someone hits someone like that and breaks their bones, they accept that they will die. This is what the accused did, he had homicidal intent. It can be seen from the affected areas, the tension and severity”the prosecutor’s office said, among other things, rejecting the 50-year-old’s claim that he committed the crime in the heat of the moment.

“The biggest mystery was not that a person disappeared but the car,” she said at another point in her speech, adding that the accused was found to be the last person to have had business dealings with him.

The process continues with the procurement of civil action and defense attorneys while the decision is expected to be issued tomorrow. Court of first instance the accused had been sentenced to life imprisonment.
