By decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Haris Theoharisthe deadline for payment of Vehicle Traffic Fees is extended until February 29, 2024.
As clarified by the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, the new date is final and no further extension will be given.
Referring to the new deadline, the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Haris Theocharis emphasized that “we have decided to extend the timely payment of the Vehicle Traffic Fees for 2024 in order for our fellow citizens and every Greek household that owns a vehicle, to plan to cover their obligations with more comfort”.
The Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis, made the following statement: “We have decided to grant an extension for road taxes, for their payment, until February 29, 2024. For another two months. Then the government will propose a new system, based on which there will not be an immediate, if the fees are not paid, surcharge, 100%, but a gradual surcharge according to the delay of the car owner.”
The two-month extension was announced earlier today by the Minister of Finance, Kostis Hatzidakis.
