The nurse of the “Agios Andreas” hospital, accused by a 23-year-old patient of sexual abuse in the hospital’s emergency room, was released with restrictive conditions, after his apology to the investigator today, as tempo24 revealed.

He was banned from leaving the country and must appear at the Police Station every 1st and 16th of the month.

At the same time, he was imposed a monetary guarantee of 3000 euros.

The 51-year-old was taken to the District Attorney of Patras at noon on Tuesday, who brought criminal charges against him for sexual abuse, an act equivalent to rape since the victim is in a state where he cannot react.

According to POEDIN, the incident happened a few days ago, when the 23-year-old accompanied by her father arrived at the hospital from Pyrgos Ilias to undergo medical tests. After these were performed, he was then taken to the intensive care unit to obtain samples for diagnostic tests.

After taking the samples, the doctor left and the nurse stayed with the patientproceeding as the doctor complained, in acts of sexual content against the woman.

The 23-year-old called for help and together with her father who rushed to the resuscitation room, addressed the doctor who had examined her.

The alleged incident was reported to the police by the doctor, who also gave details of what she claims she saw happen during her night shift. The preliminary investigation was carried out by the Patras Security Sub-Directorate.

A forensic examination of the complainant was ordered, while at the same time, the Commander of the 6th Ministry of Health, Giannis Karvelis, already ordered an investigation into the incident.
