“Many online stores are using it ahead of the holidays new consumer misleading practices breaking the law. One of them is its use suggested retail price (SRP) on supplier websites using it misleadingly as the original price, and falsely creating the perception that it was a discount.”

This is pointed out in a statement by Union of Consumer Workers Greeces while notifying that he has sent a relevant letter to the Interagency Market Control Unit (DIMEA) and the General Secretariat of Trade and the letter is accompanied by the corresponding evidence.

The consumer organization calls for the consumer’s attention audience. As he points out “merchants cannot use the suggested retail price as a reference price for the price reduction announcement. The reference price is the lowest price they applied during the previous 30 days. Furthermore, traders can reference the suggested retail price in the price comparison framework, but they cannot give the impression that it is a price reduction, for example, by placing the value next to or below a deleted directory value. It should be ensured that there is no confusion between price comparison and price reduction.’
