Mr. Angelidis stated that at the time the incident happened he was in the old town, opposite the building where the massacre took place.
Speaking to SKAI, Antonis Angelidis, a Greek who is in the Czech capital on vacation, and the assistant professor at Charles University K. Tsivos describe the moments of terror they experienced in Prague, while the butcher David Kozak executed his victims indiscriminately.
Mr. Angelidis stated that at the time the incident happened he was in the old town, opposite the building where the massacre took place.
He and his wife heard sirens and saw people being anxious.
The first image was that it was a terrorist attack, it was not yet known what exactly had happened.
The couple saw that a huge police force with dozens of patrol cars had lined up at the scene.
We were lucky, we had passed in front of the building where the incident happened a little while ago, said Mr. Angelidis.
The assistant Professor K. Tsivos who was teaching a class at the time of the shootings in the rectory building said that the police initially thought that the attacker was moving in that building.
“We didn’t realize it, we heard sirens and screams, but when the lesson ended I saw an email telling the teachers to lock the doors and turn off the lights, but we realized that we weren’t the focus of the attack, it was in a building 500 meters from he told us.
He added that the school will remain closed until January 2 and that they are trying to gather information about colleagues and students who are among the victims or are hospitalized.
