Today the 13 arrested are in front of the investigator, alleged to be members of two criminal organizations, accused of being involved in a number of cases of promoting irregular migrants to Greek territory from the Greek-Turkish border.

Police officers of the Immigration Management Department of the Directorate of Aliens in Thessaloniki managed to dismantle the two multi-member criminal organizations a few days ago. As it was established, 21 people participated in these two criminal organizations, fourteen Greeks and seven foreigners.

The arrests of the 13 alleged perpetrators took place in areas of Athens and Thessalonikiwhile three people are already in custody.

At the same time, the details of ten more people, involved in the same case, were identified, while one more person was arrested on the basis of a relevant warrant for the offenses of transporting illegal immigrants.

As it emerged from the police investigations, from May 2023 until the time of their arrest, the perpetrators organized and carried out a total of 22 trafficking of illegal immigrants, during which a total of 166 people were transported, with an estimated financial benefit of at least 500,000 euros.
