The doctors are modestly optimistic about the 14-year-old’s health who collapsed from a cerebral hemorrhage while singing carols on Christmas Eve in Arta.
The operation to deal with the cerebral hemorrhage to which the little one underwent is considered successful, while the imaging tests confirm the good postoperative course.
The 14-year-old remains intubated but in a stable condition at the “Agia Sophia” Children’s ICU where he underwent a difficult operation on Sunday evening, after it was deemed necessary to transfer the child from the hospitals of Ioannina to the Children’s Hospital.
The boy has completed 24 hours in the ICU, after completing hours of delicate brain surgery, with doctors satisfied with the operation.
He underwent imaging tests yesterday afternoon which confirmed a good post-operative outcome, with surgeons expressing cautious optimism about his condition.
Based on the positive imaging findings and the stable clinical picture of the minor, the doctori they will start in the next few hours the process of reducing the sedative drugs in order to proceed with the extubation of the child.
It is recalled that a child had left his house, on the morning of Christmas Eve, to sing carols, but shortly afterwards he lost consciousness, necessitating his transfer to the “Hatzikosta” hospital.
At the Hospital he was intubated and then transported to the University. The neurosurgeons underwent an operation to treat the bleeding and then an EKAV plane picked up the little boy from the Ioannina airport to take him to Athens to continue the fight of his life.
