Mission to Spain – By Aris Galanopoulos
We traveled to Spain, where the pan-European presentation of the new Lexus LBX took place. This is the new small SUV from Lexus, which carries all those elements that make the Japanese brand stand out, luxury, reliability and build quality.
The new LBX is almost 4.2 meters long and sits on a familiar Toyota platform. However, it comes with a longer wheelbase than the Yaris Cross and of course with significant upgrades to the suspension and steering system.
Under the hood is the hybrid set with the 1.5 three-cylinder gasoline engine and an electric motor. The combined performance reaches 136 hp, while it is available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive versions.
Of course the interior gives off an aura of luxury and is lined with all the latest developments in terms of entertainment and information. More specifically, behind the steering wheel there is the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and on the central console a large touchscreen with excellent resolution and processing power.
The space for the passengers is satisfactory and the 402 liters of luggage space is a lot for the model class.
Driving the new Lexus LBX it is clear that the Japanese have completely transferred the atmosphere and driving feeling from the larger models to their small SUV. Comfort is a given and at the same time the average low consumption (5 lt./100 km) are commendable characteristics for the new LBX.
The availability of the Lexus LBX in our country will begin next March with prices starting from 31,300 euros for versions with front-wheel drive and from 40,000 euros.
