The Presidency of the Republic sent a clear social and not only message through the New Year carols. Homeless people and people with autism, as well as Ukrainian children, among others, sang carols to Mrs. Katerina Sakellaropoulou.
The beginning was made by the band of the Armed Forces and the Presidential Guard, to be followed successively by members of the UniquALL Autism Academy of the veteran basketball player Dimitris Papanikolaou and of the Eurohoops Academy of his fellow athlete, Theodoris Papaloukas – with them was the an. Minister of Health Irini Agapidakis.
In addition, carols were sung by the fellow citizens of the President, from the Panthracite Federation of Southern Greece, as well as the chorus of the Homeless of the Group for UNESCO Piraeus and Islands – together with the State MP Giorgos Stamatis, who has been secretary of Social Solidarity of the New Democracy.
A carol was also sung to Mrs. Sakellaropoulou by the Union of Apantachou Maniots “Mani”, the Federation of Chanters’ Associations of Greece, while the Ukrainian school “Bereginia” gave a special tone. The celebration closed with the Panepirotiki Confederation of Greece and the Municipal Philharmonic of Amfilochia.
