With her brilliance and presence President of the Republic Katerina Sakellaropoulou and his Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakisthis morning, in the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, the established solemn Doxology was held on the occasion of the beginning of the new calendar year, the patron of Archbishop of Athens and All Greece Hieronymus.

Upon the arrival of the President of the Republic in the Metropolis, members of the armed forces and the security forces paid her respects and sang the national anthem. The President inspected the shrines that were lined up and headed to the Metropolis, where she was received by the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the Speaker of the Parliament Konstantinos Tassoulas, the new Attica Regional Governor Nikos Hardalias, the new Athens Mayor Haris Doukas and the First Chancellor of the Holy Synod Archimandrite Varvanas Theocharis .

This was followed by the Doxology at the beginning of the year by the Archbishop of Athens.

In his message, the Archbishop of Athens and all of Greece wished that the new year would be creative, peaceful, that would take us out of traps and difficulties. The Archbishop underlined that the only, the strongest, the most beautiful slogan of this day and the days to come, “all of us to forget, big or small, what separates us and to prefer and live and fight for what unites us, which are too many”. Finally, he wished a happy birthday.

It was attended by government ministers, party leaders and representatives, the chiefs of the armed forces and security forces, the president of the Supreme Court, the president of the Court of Auditors.

Afterwards, Archbishop Hieronymos went to the Presidential Palace in order to wish the President of the Republic a happy new year.
