Evidence in support of the charge filed the family of the 32-year-old policeman who was murdered, off duty, in a bar in Thessaloniki, by a 44-year-old Norwegian citizen. The crime happened in the early hours of December 28, in a beer bar on Katsimidis Street, right next to the MAT headquarters. The 32-year-old officer of EL.AS. he was having fun with his best man of the same age, when, under unknown circumstances, a fight broke out with the 44-year-old, a patron of the same shop. According to what became known, there was an argument over a trivial matter, after which the Norwegian stabbed the best man in the leg. The 32-year-old rushed to intervene and suffered a fatal neck injury.
In his apology, the foreign defendant (prosecuted for manslaughter, committed and attempted, as well as illegal carrying and use of weapons), claimed memory lapses due to his drunkenness, while he stated that he was experiencing psychological problems and for this reason he submitted a request for a psychiatric examination. He was adjudged a temporary prisoner and taken to Diavata prisons.
