They are in despair residents of Colonwho complain to Skai.gr that as soon as it gets dark the area turns into a den of delinquency mainly by minors, who they use drugs and bully women and passers-by.

As they say, they feel insecure and afraid to move around in their own neighborhood as the minorswho act in groups, they even fall on the wheels of passing carsin order to “upload” their achievements on social media. Of course not caring if they injure themselves or cause a traffic accident.

But the problem is faced mainly by the elderly who are also the most vulnerable victims of minorsas they dare not leave the house without someone’s escort.

It is a meeting point and now inaccessible for the residents the junction of Distomos and Mylon streetswhere, as the local residents themselves complain, there the situation has gone out of control.

As for the Petroula Square shopkeepers complain that it has been turning into a ghetto for a long time and no one dares to speak.

“We are very worried because we have been in the area for many years, we are a neighborhood with elderly parents, with small children and we believe that we must somehow protect ourselves” says a typical resident of the area.

And he adds:

“We are talking about children under 12 years old. They very often annoy pedestrians as well as car drivers, sometimes bullying, sometimes falling on the car or the wheels of the car, shouting that we are hitting them.

Now we are also talking about children, of course, about the same minors who almost every day they drive defiantly.

But I would like you to think about what can happen if an accident happens and we happen to hit a child. They will run us in.

But I think that the most important thing is that mainly in the evening there are daily doses of substances.

We are very worried because we have been in the area for many years, we are a neighborhood with elderly parents, with small children and we believe that we must somehow protect ourselves.

And I would also like you to know that similar actions are taking place in Petroula Square in Lenorman, which especially at night has become a ghetto, a slum.

From there on personally I’ve seen that there are police road patrols, but beyond that I don’t know anything else.”
