The government will continue to support entrepreneurship that creates new jobs, in practice, with investment tools of multiplier capacity.
This was noted by the representatives of the government at yesterday’s annual reception of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry held in the presence of a large number of business and political people at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). Ministers, deputy ministers and representatives of the opposition presented the “EBEA Awards 2023” to businesses and entrepreneurs who supported the national economy, employment and society with their business activity.
“We are designing development tools for the re-industrialization of the country, for innovation, for extroversion and for SMEs” noted the Minister of Development Kostas Skrekas representing the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the presentation of the business awards and added that the economy has developed in a sustainable and sustainable way and the conditions that have been formed ensure that we can go higher, with the political will and the skills to face the difficulties and the country emerges victorious.
“It is not enough to cultivate the field only one year, but every year it takes effort and the government is determined to do that,” said the minister.
He noted that even the biggest companies, or the big ones, once started small, that’s why the government gives special importance to the facilitating conditions, especially for small and medium entrepreneurship. In addition, he emphasized that according to the data of the General Commercial Registry, tens of thousands of new businesses are being opened, which means that the business and economic environment supports the risk, but the government’s effort to stand by entrepreneurs continues.
Yiannis Bratakos, Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister and Director of the Prime Minister’s Office underlined the importance of corporate social responsibility for society and collective effort and then referred to the importance of achieving a single-digit unemployment reduction and added that the government’s effort to standing by entrepreneurship is kept undiminished so that new and well-paid jobs are created.
The Minister of National Economy and Finance Kostis Hatzidakis emphasized that “entrepreneurship is a driving force for development and the creation of new jobs, that’s why we supported it, we support it and we will continue to support it with our pro-investment program that has started to yield results” . Without underestimating the difficult international environment, he continued, we are moving forward dynamically because we combine the right mix of politics with political stability creating a better economic environment in our country.
The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, underlined that the government has managed to decriminalize the concept of business and that the decisions taken on entrepreneurship are in agreement with it.
The Minister of the Interior, Nikis Kerameos, noted that, now, “public and private are in a productive osmosis” and the state will always be a helper in the business effort and added that the economic environment is suitable for the development of entrepreneurship and especially for innovative entrepreneurship.
The Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Sofia Zaharaki, underlined that “the difference, every time, is made by the people themselves” which is why, as she continued, the government places great emphasis on the part of inclusion that is at the heart of financial programs that will be announced in next time.
The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis, stated that “in 2024, the correct fiscal policy will continue, respecting both growth and the taxpayer, with the largest public investment program of the last 14 years, with programs from the NSRF, from the Recovery Fund and from the Development Bank for SMEs and for the support of start-ups and newly established businesses”.
The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostas Fragogiannis underlined the hard work that has been done – and is being done – by the government “to make our country an export power, promoting the idea of ​​social cohesion, economic development, political stability and, above all, speaking the language of the same companies”.
The Deputy Minister of Development Maximos Senetakis stated that the business community in Greece is growing, as shown by the data of the General Commercial Register and added “we want to see the proliferation of innovations, the increase of patents for this reason and we take initiatives with trust between the state and citizens in all flat”.
The president of the Capital Markets Commission (PEK), Vasilikis Lazarakou, emphasized that the Capital Markets Commission takes the lead for environmentally socially responsible businesses with good governance for a sustainable future that also concerns the next generations. The issue of environmental protection, she added, is high on the global agenda and is the reason why CSR principles are constantly being revised to deal with climate change.
On the opposition side, the State Member of Parliament and Parliamentary Representative of PASOK Dimitris Matzios referred to the importance of transparency and information throughout the distribution chain and to the strengthening of the consumer movement for an effective solution to accuracy and away from unfair anti-competitive practices with the help of the state without barriers bureaucratic, fiscal or otherwise and with incentives for entrepreneurship that produces with innovation and social justice.
