Landslides and rock falls on its provincial road network Sithonia were caused by the heavy rain, strong winds as well as the strong hail that occurred in the area.

In addition, the stream that passes through Toroni also overflowed, resulting in flood roads and houses in the settlement.

The Halkidiki Regional Unit informs drivers that they should be especially careful at the 75th km of the Sithonia road circuit, right at the height of Toroni.

Crews from the Regional Unit of Halkidiki and the Municipality of Sithonia are on the scene to repair the damage caused and to clear the road of the transported materials.

In the meantime, as announced by the Municipality of Polygyros, the damages in Paleochora and Marathousa caused by the sudden bad weather have been repaired.

The stormy winds that started early on Sunday caused trees to fall, which in some cases fell on PPC cables and transformers, causing serious problems with electricity and water supply, as the pumping stations of the two areas. Problems also occurred in telecommunications for the same reasons.

According to the Municipality, the cleaning and opening of the streets, as well as all public spaces, has been completed.
