Women hold an impressive position in the scientific staff of the Greek Police, according to data from the Headquarters of the Corps, which are included in a video posted on YouTube and the social media of ELAS, on the occasion of the International Day for Women and Girls in Science , which was established to be celebrated today, February 11th.
According to the specific data, 49% of the scientific police staff are women.
It is noted that a total of 7,916 women serve in the entire Police, of which 1,482 hold higher education degrees (degrees, postgraduate and doctoral), in various fields.
The first female scientist was hired by the Hellenic Post in 1997, as a specialist in the analysis of digital evidence.
The video, made by the Hellenic Police Headquarters, shows five women who hold important positions among the scientific staff, as they serve in key positions in the field of scientific case management that concern the prosecuting authorities, such as the Directorate of Criminological Investigations, or as psychologists in the protection of minors, or in Cybercrime Prosecution.
These women answer questions about how they experience their service in a body like the Police, in society, but also what should be the position of girls in the field of science.
