Fuel Smuggling, Cigarette Smuggling and Death Contracts in Greece – A Big Ring with Gangs Fighting Each Other
In Greece for decades there was the cigarette mafia and the one that controlled illegal fuels. The emergence of Russian speakers, however, it changed the data and opened the blood cycle. The members of “Vor V Zakone” entered the game, claiming a share of the “golden” pie of tobacco that until then belonged to others, causing her reaction…
According to the estimates of ELAS officers, the “saturated” market for oil and gasoline smuggling forced the members of the “Greek Mafia” to enter the illegal tobacco market. They imported bulk tobacco, transported it to illegal tobacco factories and warehouses in Western Attica and essentially made imitations of branded cigarette packs which they exported mainly abroad with great profits. In this “market” there were traditionally four to five “players”, most expatriates from countries of the former Soviet Union, however a mondus vivendi was found with the members of the Greek mafia.
The unrest was sparked by a ‘new player’ originally from Ukraine who came to Greece two years ago when the war broke out in Ukraine and tried to control the specific tobacco market in a quite aggressive way triggering the reaction of the “established players”. It is noted that in Greece there are members of the executive branch. Some leading figures who are in Ukraine and enjoy the protection of virtually the cream of the crop of the Russian-speaking mafia, i.e. “Vor V Zakone”.
The pistols and the hits
The decision of the fuel mafia to enter “the fields” of the cigarette makers caused their reaction. Then the contract of death was signed at the expense of one of the biggest names of the night. Thus begins the involvement of the Russian speakers moving between Greece and Ukraine with many traces in Northern Greece.
The blow against the so-called “Uncle Joe” the open war between the “Greek mafia” and the Russian speakers begins. Bomb attacks and arson attacks on houses, gas stations and illegal tobacco factories follow on both sides. Five total attacks in a house on NATO Avenue, in a gas station in Aspropyrgos and three more in 2023 in Menidi and Aspropyrgos…
The Russian speakers kill the so-called “Rambo” in his house in Korydallos as they believe he was behind the attacks against them…
