As revealed by the ELAS investigation, the death contract for “Uncle Joe” aka Yannis Skaftouros was executed because Skaftouros and his close circle had started contacts with the area of ​​illegal cigarettes, which affected the interests of the criminal organization as a result “Uncle Joe” to be targeted by the executioners and on April 25, 2022, to fall dead from the fire of at least two people, while he was in his summer house in the village of Skourta in Viotia with his relatives due to Easter. The perpetrators then fled on a motorcycle.

The motorcycle was found, taken to its forensic labs THE GREEK POLICE and from the investigation fingerprints were identified which are identical to the fingerprints of the 39-year-old arrested.

Another war had just started and a year later, unknown people placed an explosive device in the 39-year-old’s vehicle in L. Nato. The vehicle is completely destroyed by the explosion, while the suspicions that he is behind the attack fall on Vassilis Roubetis.

On June 7, 2023, another death contract is executed and Vassilis Roubetis, also known as Rambo, is executed outside his home in Korydallos.

Before the murder of Rambo, a very serious piece of information fell into the hands of ELAS, which essentially “showed” the experienced officers the way to start the investigations. These are two mobile phones that were found in a stolen car on May 15. From the examination of the mobile phones it emerged that both had been bought from Ukraine and were used by the executioners to monitor their victim Vassilis Rubetis.

Both of these mobiles from the traces of the mobile telephone antennas, it emerged that they were at times in houses used by the two arrested.

In addition to the two defendants, one more was arrested, who faces charges of misdemeanor smuggling and illegal possession of weapons as Kalashnikov magazines were found and confiscated at his home.

According to ELAS, seven people have been identified as members of the criminal organization, while the involvement of at least 10 other suspects is being examined.
