Sworn Administrative Examination against the police officer who had misappropriated service weapons, the Hellenic Police Headquarters announced on Friday. At the same time, the police officer was suspended.

It is noted that in the context of a regular weapons check carried out by a gunsmith at the Police Department of Attica, shortages of handguns were found, which were charged to the specific police officer – administrator of the Department.

The Internal Affairs Service of the Security Forces was immediately informed, from the investigation of which it emerged that they were missing 6 service pistols, 4 service revolvers as well as the private personal revolver of the particular police officer.

From the physical search as well as from the searches of his office, houses and vehicles, two hunting rifles, with an expired possession license, a mobile phone as well as -41- cartridges of various calibers, a bulletproof vest and a police baton, which he illegally possessed, were also found and confiscated. as there was no service charge for them and the caliber of the cartridges differed from that of his individual armament.
