They were arrested in Rethymno for offenses related to animal theft five Greeks, while for one an additional case file was filed for violations related to possession of weapons.

In areas of the Municipality of Rethymno and Municipality of Amari, policemen of the Security of Rethymno and the TAE of Rethymno and Mylopotamos, conducted searches in sheepfolds that keep the specific persons. As it was established, they had committed animal theft offenses as fewer sheep were counted than declared and all detected, they did not carry the prescribed marking. All lamb goats declared by the breeders must be marked with the known earmarks. Therefore, the sheep found by the police did not belong to the specific persons.

This was followed by a search at the house of one of the arrested persons during which the following were found and confiscated: Two pistols, one hundred and ten full cartridges of various calibers, twenty cartridges for an unknown type of pistol or rifle, and a war rifle bayonet. The preliminary investigation is carried out by the Rethymnon Security Directorate.
