The 50-year-old butcher has been transferred to the Korydallos prison in Athens – accused of the murder of 31-year-old Babis in Messolonghi – since yesterday he was sentenced to pre-trial detention after his lengthy apology.
After the developments with finding the body of the 31-year-old, prosecutor and investigator call him to a new confession and by the end of the week he will come again to the courts of Messolonghi.
The 50 year old denies any involvement in the crime and declares that he has nothing to do with the case.
Police investigations in the marshy area where the body of the unfortunate 31-year-old was found yesterday – with multiple wounds from wild boar bullets – continue, in order to find evidence that will “bind” the charges against the 50-year-old.
The purpose of police officers participating in investigations is to find evidencesuch as genetic material, fingerprints and objects, which could help to reach safe conclusions about the exact circumstances under which the man was murdered.
Alongside, they are looking for evidence that may “show” whether one or more perpetrators are involved in the criminal actwhile searching for a gun and a cell phone.
In the context of the same investigations, video footage from traffic management and security cameras is expected to be reviewedwhile evidence from mobile phone fingerprints, which the Police has at its disposal, will also be re-evaluated.
