ELAS issued an official statement regarding the investigation into the murder of one 44 year old man which shocked Kavala.
According to ELAS, a 46-year-old man was arrested as the perpetrator who, for an insignificant reason, went to the victim’s house and shot him, without any reason, with a shotgun.

The murder of a 44-year-old citizen, which was committed on the afternoon of Saturday, February 12, 2022, in the settlement of Eleftheron, Kavala, was investigated by police officers of the Public Security Team of the Kavala Security Department.
A 46-year-old local man was arrested in connection with the case, against whom a case was filed for manslaughter and violation of the law on weapons.
In particular, as it was found out yesterday afternoon, the perpetrator went to the 44-year-old’s house and for an insignificant reason shot him with a shotgun in the chest, injuring him fatally.
After informing the police authorities and the thorough investigation that followed, the 46-year-old perpetrator was identified and arrested, who during his examination confessed to his act.
As part of the investigation, the hunting rifle used by the perpetrator and another shotgun, which he legally possessed, as well as 28 cartridges were found and confiscated.
The arrested person will be taken to the Prosecutor of Kavala.
