The farmers of Thessaly and central Macedonia are determined to escalate their mobilizations
The farmers of Thessaly and central Macedonia declare that they are determined to escalate their mobilizations, as tomorrow they will march with tractors in the city of Larissa, while they may also block central roads in the provincial and national networks.
Today, for about half an hour, farmers and breeders occupied the roadway at Larissa – Trikala – Ioannina National Road. At the same time, the block in Zarko trikala is strengthened with the arrival of more tractors.
The farmers of Trikala are also protesting the reduced subsidies provided for by the common agricultural policy while they are asking the government for a flood protection plan.
Apart from Zarko, roadblocks exist in several areas such as the one outside Karditsa under the E65, but tractors have also lined up in Almyros, Rizomylos and Platykampos, where they are even preparing to escalate their mobilizations.
The farmers in Platykambos will by Tuesday have appointed a committee to meet with the prime minister or a government echelon to present their demands. Tomorrow, they will march in the center of Larissa with a gathering point at the entrances of the city and, accompanied by the police, they will reach the central square
The farmers of northern Greece are also on foot, setting up blockades in Naoussa, Giannitsa, Serres, Grevena, Kastoria, Komotini, Veria, Chalkidona and Epanomi.
In Derveni, Thessaloniki, farmers have lined up their tractors next to Egnatia Odos while the blockade is constantly being strengthened as their protests are expected to culminate on Thursday, which is the opening of the Agrotica exhibition in the center of Thessaloniki.
