The exact dates from which the serious reforms envisaged in the bill under discussion on the preventing and dealing with criminal behavior in the context of sports meetingsannounced the Deputy Minister of Sports, Yannis Vroutsis.

Mr. Vroutsis, during today’s 4th and last meeting of the Standing Committee on Educational Affairs with the second reading of the draft law, underlined the following:
* From Tuesday, February 13, the provisions concerning the restructuring of the responsibilities and the framework of the operation of the Permanent Committee to Combat Violence enter into force (DEAB), making it more flexible, functional and efficient.

* From Tuesday, February 13th, the provisions of the administrative measures and penalties that will be imposed by the DAEB with time immediacy and subject to binding competence come into forcewhen it comes to the most frequent behaviors of fan violence such as (indicatively) throwing flammable and generally dangerous objects into the playing fields, spectators entering them, posting banners or other inscriptions of a political, religious or ideological nature, with abusive, racist or sexist content, etc. .

* From On Wednesday, March 6, the provisions for the new framework for electronic supervision of sports facilities come into force (state-of-the-art cameras everywhere, with constant monitoring by the Hellenic Football Association) and no AAE, competing in the Super League and the Basket League, will compete with spectators in the domestic competitions if they do not have the electronic monitoring system installed and in full operation and supervision of the sports facility it uses as its headquarters.

* From Tuesday, April 9, the provisions for the modern and innovative system of identification of ticket holders of football matches between Super League teams come into forceutilizing modern technologies and EMEp (identification via mobile phone and entering the stadium via it), in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Governance.

And as the Minister of Sports pointed out, in view of the introduction of the bill in the Plenary Session of the Parliament for discussion and voting the day after tomorrow, Wednesday, January 31 “the above provisions and the others (e.g., operation of Fan Clubs with only one per team emblem, delinquency clause with percentage reduction from betting funding, etc.) together with the foreseen secondary legislation come to complement the existing legislative framework, ensuring the its inexorable and complete application, with explicit and specific provisions.
Provisions that respond to modern requirements and aim to effectively deal with the phenomena of hooliganism.
It’s about legislative intervention which – for the first time – describes with absolute clarity procedures sanctions and penalties without loopholes and above all with a horizontal requirement to all involveddefining the imposition of custodial sentences, in order to further strengthen the institutional framework for dealing with “fan violence”.
