Motorized a protest march took place this Thursday morning by the Beekeeping Associations of Thessaly in the city of Larissa, in the context of the mobilization of the sector, following a relevant decision taken in accountability meeting of the Beekeeping Association of Larisa.

According to onlarissa.gr, agricultural vehicles gathered in the parking lot in front of the covered market in Neapolis, while the route they followed with honking that roused the city, was as follows: Karditsis Street – Ilarchos Sarimvei – Heroes of the Polytechnic – Papanastasiou – Cyprus – Nikitaras – Heroes of the Polytechnic – Ilarchos Sarimvei – Karditsis.

They participated in the protest the Thessalian Associations: Elassona, Karditsa, Larissa, Magnesia, Trikkaia, Trikkaia – Friends of the Bee and Farsala.

The president of the Beekeeping Association of Larissa, Petros Saroudis, among others, emphasized that: “We have perennial issues as beekeepers that we need to solve and the cost of money is not great. The issue of Hellenizations must be solved above all. The state should take stricter measures for them, as there is our own loss of income. We lost bees to floods and fires. Larissa lost 17 thousand hives in the whole county”.

The beekeepers they are no longer viable Maria Caldera stressed.

In a symbolic move, beekeepers set fire to an effigy of a beekeeper.

The agricultural vehicles of the beekeepers after the march through the streets of Larissa they will head to the Platykambos junction to reinforce the farmers’ block.

After the end of the protest, the resolution was delivered by the Boards of the Associations to the Regional Governor of Thessaly.
