A 9-year-old girl died today from streptococcus in Didymoteicho.
The child he was taken at noon by EKAV ambulance to Didymoteicho hospital with severe respiratory failuredue to an infection and the test he was given came out positive for the streptococcus bacterium.
Despite the efforts of the doctors the unlucky little girl ended up.
The hospital’s medical bulletin states:
“About the incident sudden death of a 9-year-old girl at Didymoteicho General Hospital:
– Around 12pm A 9-year-old girl was brought to the Hospital by her mother because high fever, shortness of breath and diarrheal stools. Accompanying Symptoms: Rhinitis, Cough.
– After examination the seriousness of the situation was established (existence of streptococcus and even an aggressive one, and severe pneumonia with other concomitant symptoms: Pallor, perioral cyanosis, shortness of breath, palpitation, etc.), and the patient prepared for transfer in PGN Alexandroupolis.
– During the preparation for transfer the patient had a major episode hemoptysis and suddenly loss of conscience.
– They arrived and took charge of the incident: Anesthesiologist, Cardiologist, Urological Surgeon, who with the pediatricianperformed resuscitation for more than 1 hour but unfortunately ineffective.
The little patient ended up around 2:30 p.m.
The Administration and staff of G.N. Didymoteicho express the deeply saddened by the event and condolences to the parents and relatives of the deceased 9-year-old”.
