At the audience Mixed Jury Court referred to trial the 36-year-old police officer team’s DI.ASfrom the fire of which he lost his life 16 year old Roma, during a police chase, in December 2022, in western Thessaloniki. With a will published today, the Criminal Council of Thessaloniki refers him to trial for manslaughter with possible intent, in a calm state of mind, but also for the execution of illegal shootings.

The judges of the Council, according to information, judged that the accused police officer with intent and already accepting his knowledge that his act was likely to produce the incident in question, killed the minor, ending up in a calm state of mind.

The summons describes in detail the history of the pursuit, which began when the police were informed that the 16-year-old victim left with the I.X. his father’s truck from a gas station, without paying the amount of 20 euros for the fuel he had put in.

As stated in the will, the accused police officer fired with his service weapon twice from a distance of 10-15 meters: one of the bullets hit the car from the back, penetrated the windshield, hitting the back of the head of the 16-year-old who missed his senses and the control of the car, with the consequence that it hit successively the steps of an adjacent hotel and an external wall, where it stopped.

The minor victim succumbed to his injuries after being hospitalized for eight days, as stated in the will. With the same will, the restrictive condition that had been imposed on the 36-year-old police officer of the ban on exiting the country is maintained.
