According to information, the tanker that was located in the south of Chios and was driven by the port authority to the anchorage, was to be bought by a company of Greek interests in Izmir but was detained by the authorities for debts.

However, the ship’s master boarded three inspectors without their consent and with the excuse of going to a neighboring anchorage, set sail for Egypt and was located by the port authority in the specific maritime area of ​​Chios.

According to the port authority, the competent prosecutor’s office was informed about the case, while the ship’s master is accused of robbery (Article 322 of the penal code). The case of the preliminary investigation has been taken over by the central port authority of Chios.
