A taxi driver in Paleo Faliro was the victim of a robbery on Friday night.
In particular, according to the Police, shortly before 11 in the evening 4 people got into a taxi on Niriidon Street pretending to be customers. However, a little further down Amphitheas Avenue, the “customers” forcibly forced the driver to get out of his taxi and escaped by driving it.
Afterwards, police officers from the Dias Group located the stolen taxi, in which only one person was aboard, on Leonidio Street in Omonia and signaled it to stop for a check.
But the driver did not obey the signals and developed speed. However, in his attempt to escape, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into parked vehicles. He then got out of the taxi and tried to run away, but failed after being arrested by the police.
As it became known from the Police, the arrested person is a 31-year-old citizen of Turkey, while the investigation of the authorities to identify and locate his accomplices is ongoing.
