Farmers across the country are peaking their mobilizations today, Monday, just 24 hours from the committee’s meeting with the Prime Minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

Rally in Farsala

A large rally is underway in the town of Farsala by farmers from the area and block E65 of Karditsa.

“All farmers, breeders, beekeepers, operators and ordinary citizens of the province are invited to attend and support the fair demands made by farmers for the survival of the primary sector”.

About 100 tractors made a forceful entry into the city crossing the main road to the square with prolonged honking.

The farmers are asking the government for tax-free agricultural oil, 7 cents per kilowatt-hour for electricity, 100% compensation from ELGA and that the CAP not be implemented.

Mobilizations in Kilkis

The farmers of Polykastro in Kilkis have also taken to the streets with their tractors in order to block for four hours the border station of Evzones for trucks carrying goods and not for citizens. The farmers reached a point on the old Thessaloniki-Evzonon highway long before the customs office, however, they encountered a police roadblock. They then reversed their tractors and drove away through the fields.
