-Saints Aquilas and Priscilla
The Holy Apostles Aquila and Priscilla were a Jewish couple and came from Pontus. They lived in Corinth and practiced the profession of stage designer. They were virtuous and pious people.
When the Apostle Paul visited Corinth to teach the Orthodox faith, the couple offered him warm hospitality as they were impressed with his preaching. They were so touched by the fiery and saving words of the Apostle, that after being catechized and baptized by him, they decided to follow him on his tours as his assistants. The Apostle was so impressed by their virtues and Christian activity that he commemorated them in his letters, writing that not only he, but also all the churches of the nations are grateful for their offered services and courage.
Later the persecutors of Christianity arrested them and beheaded the Saints giving them together with the title of Apostles and the title of Martyrs.
