Nightmarish moments were experienced on Sunday night the 106 passengers on Belgrade-Dusseldorf flights.

The plane they were on and which it belongs to to Marathon Airlines based in Athens, but flying on behalf of the Serbian airline Air Serbia, crashed on take off from Belgrade airport at the traffic lights at the end of the track. The airplane’s fuselage and left rear wing were severely damaged and the emergency landing protocol was implemented.

The plane circled over Belgrade for 60 minutes an hour to use up the fuel, as prescribed by the procedure for such cases. It eventually landed safely and all passengers left it safely. The plane has a large hole in the fuselage as well as in the wing. As reported by the airport management, this is a mistake of the pilot, who entered another runway that was shorter than the one indicated by the control tower.
