A 43-year-old man was arrested who incited acts that can cause discrimination and hatred against people based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
The man was arrested on Wednesday afternoon in an area of Attica and a case file was filed against him for spreading false news and violating the law on criminalization of acts or actions aimed at racial discrimination.
In particular, the defendant maintained a profile on a social networking platform, in which he repeatedly posted racially motivated videos publicly inciting violence, discrimination and hatred against people based on their gender identity and sexual orientation. At the same time, false news about vaccines was being spread.
The above was arrested by police officers of the Department for Combating Racist Violence, as part of the self-immolation, as on the evening of Tuesday, February 20, 2024, he had made a live broadcast on a social networking medium with content similar to the above.
The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
