The demolition work of the abandoned old buildings tanneries of Thessaloniki begin tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
It is about removing the latter foci of infection and pollution on the western coastal front of Thessaloniki, carried out by the Region of Central Macedonia, in the context of the cleaning, regeneration, consolidation and promotion of the coastal front of Thessaloniki.
Autopsy on demolition work will be carried out by the Regional Governor of Central Macedonia Apostolos Tzizikostas.
According to cityportal.gr, the planning of the Region of Central Macedonia, after the decontamination, foresees its upgrading, so that it forms part of the unified coastal front of Thessaloniki, approximately forty kilometers long from Kalochori to Angelochori.
The regional governor Apostolos Tzitzikostas has characterized the overall plan for the beach front as the biggest project in decades for the place, which will constitute the new identity of the city with new spaces open and accessible to all citizens, with a continuous recreation zone and pedestrian axis and with the possibility of seamless movement by bicycle.
